It was a tough weekend for the tier 1 Midget Tracker-Flyers, who opened their regular season with three games in Calgary, against the two Edge teams.

On Friday night, NEBC and Yukon suffered a tough 3-2 overtime loss to Edge Maroon.   Ryley Carter made 37 saves on 40 shots and was named NEBC player of the game.  Flyer goals were scored by Gib Pearson and Tyler Norris.

On Saturday night, Edge Gold posted a 6-2 win, this time David Readman faced all the rubber for NEBC, while Norris and Taggart provided the offence.

On Sunday, looking to make amends for that OT loss on Friday the Trackers again faced Edge Maroon, but again ended up on the short end of a one goal loss, 5-4 the final.   Tyler Norris scored a pair of goals in a losing effort. while Connor Fynn and Dylan Houle scored singles.

The next games for NEBC and Yukon have been cancelled, meaning the team doesn’t play until it hosts Fort McMurray on Friday Oct. 16th, at the North Peace Arena.
