S. Ferris wins Race of the Fallen Leaves

Race of the Fallen Leaves:

The weather was near-perfect for the final road race of the 2009 Blizzard road bike season.

Ten racers participated in the 60km distance.

Stephen Ferris won the trophy with a time of 1:48:46. Darren Guliov was second at 1:53:39 and Roger St. Jean was third at 1:54:02.

Also this weekend, Pat Ferris placed 20th in the Sport Class at the ‘School of Cross’ Cyclo-cross event on Saturday in Edmonton.  The race featured a huge crowd of racers from all over Western Canada on a difficult and technical course.

Colter Young placed 12th in the Elite Division, while Grande Prairie’s Blaine Richter finished 3rd in the Expert Class.

On Sunday, Richter posted an outstanding second place finish in the Expert Class at the ‘Hop and Hurl’ Cyclo-cross event.  Pat Ferris placed 30th in the Sport Class.

Coming up:

Wednesday – Mountain Bike Time Trial at the Cactus Circuit. 

Thursday October 1st –  Toony Cyclo-Cross at NPSS starting at 6:00pm.
