Update – Haze coming from Prince George

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

**Update – Saturday August 29th 2009 – The current air quality reading has dropped to poor.  There still hasn’t been an air quality advisory issued for the region.

The skies over Fort St. John are looking a bit hazy this afternoon, but officials aren’t worried about the local air quality.

Winds are pushing smoke northwards from large forest fires burning in the Prince George region.

An air quality advisory has been issued for the Prince George region. But, as of 2:45pm, no air quality advisories have been issued for the Peace Region.  The current air quality reading in Fort St. John is fair.

A representative from Environment Canada says any advisories will be posted on their website. For more information visit www.weatheroffice.gc.ca
