Saturday marks Multicultural Day across Canada, and Fort St. John is rolling out the celebrations.

Everybody is invited to attend the event in Centennial Park on Saturday.

Organizer Laurel Batterham says every culture will be celebrated in the day-long event.

Traditional Filipino food will be available to purchase. There will also be workshops in belly dancing and Latin dance. Batterham says the event will showcase a variety of arts like music, dance and fashion.

She says all of the planned events are free, and it’s a great opportunity to learn about different cultures.

At two o’clock, those interested can take part in a cultural fashion show. Batterham says anyone with regalia or other cultural dress is encouraged to take part.

The celebration starts at 11am and goes until 3pm.
