A Union Spokesperson has confirmed the two sides will meet with a mediator, in hopes of resolving a standoff between workers and the city of Fort St. John.

BC Government Employees Union Communications Officer Erin Sikora says the union has accepted the city’s application for mediation, after employees voted 92 per cent in favour of strike action on June 15th.

Sikora says the union and the city will meet with a mediator on July 14th and 15th.

The B.C.G.E.U. represents around 120 city employees, who have been without a contract since the end of December.
