The Northern Environmental Action Team is one step closer to building a new office.
At the City Council Meeting on Monday night, City Council granted NEAT re-zoning for its potential new location on 110th Avenue.
However, Executive Director Sally Emory says rezoning was only the first step of many, before NEAT can break ground.

The property is across from the North Peace Care Home between 100th and 98th Street. It was previously zoned as C1, which is Neighborhood Commercial and designated Low Density Residential. Now, it will be re-zoned as C4, which is a General Commercial, and designated as Core Commercial.
NEAT has been in the process of purchasing a piece of property since 2002. Emory says the new building will be a valuable education and demonstration building.

She says if the land is purchased, NEAT will begin fundraising for the construction of the new building.
