Pine Beetle Money Delay

The federal government continues to insist Pine Beetle Recovery Money is flowing in BC.

Latest numbers show 107 projects worth 18.6 million dollars have been approved. However, that’s only about one half the worth of the Community Economic Diversification Fund which was announced in mid-2007.

In addition, all of the money was to have been released, by March 31st of this year, a deadline that has now been extended.

According to a CHNL report, the minister was reluctant to talk about the delay, when she visited Kamloops at the end of last week.
