Pap Awareness Week Underway

In local area medical matters, the BC Cancer Agency, in partnership with local clinics, is expanding its Pap Awareness Week campaign across the province, for the first time.

From today to Saturday, women living in several Northern BC communities can walk into a participating clinic, to get a Pap Test, without making an appointment.

The agency is particularly concerned, about young women in their twenties…an age group with a participation rate in the Cervical Cancer Screening Program, about ten percent below the BC rate.
