A Dawson Creek woman says she can't keep running Animal Rehab Centre

A woman who has spent 30 years caring for abandoned and injured wild animals says she can’t continue operating her facility without help from veterinarians.

Leona Green runs the Wildlife Rescue Centre just west of Dawson Creek, where she specializes in bear rehabilitation.

Ms. Green said several companies and individuals, including veterinarians concerned about the health of local wildlife, have supported her since she opened the centre.

But veterinarians who sold her vaccines say they can no longer do so because government regulations prevent them from providing her with certain medical products.
