The City of Fort St. John has released the 2008 Candidate Campaign Financial Disclosure statements.

These are the statements show how much each candidate received in campaign contributions, for the November civic election.

The statement from Bruce Lantz shows that the Northeast News made an in-kind donation of just under $2,800 in advertising. On the November 10th edition of Issues and Answers on Moose FM, Bruce stated he would be paying for all advertising in the paper he owned at the time. On Tuesday, Mr. Lantz reiterated that he did indeed pay for the advertising. [asset|aid=1144|format=mp3player|formatter=asset_bonus|title=82eff7c0a79dc521f1a829a77f323e49-Bruce -1 _1_Pub.mp3]

The Local Fire Fighters Union also played a big part in the recent municipal election. In total the Union donated $5,000 to four candidates. Past Mayor Jim Eglinski received $2,000 and Councilors Larry Evans, Dan Davies and Lori Ackerman each received $1,000.

But, Councilors Ackerman and Evans don’t believe this puts them in a conflict of interest. [asset|aid=1145|format=mp3player|formatter=asset_bonus|title=82eff7c0a79dc521f1a829a77f323e49-Lori Larry – 1_1_Pub.mp3]

In total Mayor Lantz spent the most on his campaign, $16,192.03, while Don Irwin spent the least of the election officials at $961.69.
