Three dead following accident by Dawson Creek

Three people are dead following a two vehicle accident Saturday morning on Highway 97 south of Dawson Creek.

At approximately 10:35am Saturday morning there was a two vehicle collision about 30km south of Dawson Creek.  The driver and two passengers of a north bound passenger car appear to have crossed the roadway and were struck by an oncoming pick-up truck.

All three were pronounced dead at the scene.  The two occupants of the pick-up truck were taken by ambulance to Dawson Creek and Regional Hospital with undetermined injuries.

The RCMP believe icy road conditions may have been the contributing factor in this accident.  The names of the deceased are not being released pending notification of next of kin.
