Jay Hill made the rounds today, announcing new federal funding for a couple of local projects.

In Dawson Creek, The Prince George / Peace River MP said the federal government will contribute 376 thousand dollars to the Youth Outlook 360 and Resource Centre Society, which was previously known as the Parkhill Community school and resource centre.

The organization will reportedly provide help to 40 at-risk youth, giving them employment skills and training.

Hill was then joined by Peace River South MLA Blair Lekstrom, to announce 2.3 million dollars for road paving in Taylor.

The project will see a number of Taylor’s gravel roads upgraded to basic paved
municipal standards, with asphalt surfaces and sidewalks.

The governments of Canada and British Columbia will each invest almost 1.2 million in the project, with the District of Taylor to cover the rest.

And finally, Jay Hill announced nearly 175 thousand dollars from the federal and provincial governments to reinforce a section of Pouce Coupe’s sewage treatment lagoon.
