Mayor confirms heart-attack

The city has confirmed Mayor Bruce Lantz checked himself into the hospital yesterday, suffering from a heart attack.

Mayor Lantz has issued his own statement, saying he was suffering from chest pains Monday morning, and promptly drove himself to the hospital. He says a heart attack was diagnosed on his arrival, but he had arrived early enough to allow medics to treat it successfully.

The Mayor says “I am resting comfortably at the Fort St. John hospital and due to the excellent care I have received here, the prognosis is good”

He expects to remain in hospital for further testing until Friday.
