Alaska Highway reopened

The Alaska Highway has reopened 3km south of Prophet River following a Greyhound bus accident.

The Greyhound bus was traveling from Fort Nelson to Fort St. John at about 5:25am Saturday morning when it rolled over near Prophet River, BC. Cst. Craig Douglass says the accident was most likely caused by the dangerous road conditions.

The RCMP do not have any new information, but at least 22 people were on board including 2 that have been critically injured and one person that was trapped. Cst. Craig Douglass says the trapped person has been freed and along with the other 2 critically injured passengers were transported by helicopter to the Fort Nelson Hospital.
