At last night’s regular meeting, City council made the first step towards such a bylaw, by asking city staff to look into the logistics of an anti idling ban, for large industrial vehicles. Mayor Jim Eglinski believes that if we are looking at making our air cleaner, we should be looking at bylaws that ban idling of larger vehicles

The city is just beginning the to look into a ban, and still has to consider the options, such as a partial ban, or one that would apply to all vehicles. It’s worth noting that the province is offering funding, to municipalities, who implement plans to clean up the air, in their communities.
