The Canadian Tax Payers Federation is warning BC residents, wind power is not a cheap source of electricity.
It says government subsidies in Denmark created a lot of wind powerbut, when the flow from the taxpayer tap started to ebb, so did theindustry.
The federation notes that wind power will also be subsidized fromthe public purse in BC and, the only beneficiaries are likely to be thebackers of the projects.
BC Hydro has issued the largest clean power call in provincialhistory, asking power producers to submit proposals, to annuallygenerate 5 thousand gigawatt hours.
However, the CTF says in the end wind power projects will simplyresult, in another wealth transfer, from the middle class to thewealthy.
