Telus outage update

Monday, February 8, 2010

By Jon Zacks

Telus has confirmed tonight’s service disruption will not affect customers in Fort St. John.

Spokesperson Shawn Hall says the disruption will be to landline service only, in the Flatrock, Cecil Lake, Goodlow, and Boundary Lake areas.

Hall says Telus is replacing about 100 metres of fibre-optic cable, which has been damaged.

Hall says the service interruption should only last for a couple of hours, but the company is advising it will start at 11 o’clock tonight, and could last for up to six hours, depending on conditions.
