The Senior Flyers wrapped up their regular season on a high note, by beating the Grande Prairie Athletics 5-4 in overtime on Saturday night.

Midget call-up Kyle Bakstad got the start in goal for the Flyers, with Troy Hunt and Derek Mettauer both still struggling with injuries.

The Flyers trailed 3-2 after the first period, and 4-2 early in the third, but fought back to force overtime, where Luke Middleton provided the heroics, to give Fort St. John the win.

Andrew Derton, Adam Horst, Todd Alexander, and Jeff Fast scored in regulation for the Flyers, while Jeff Shipton chipped in 3 assists.

Scott Taje scored a hat-trick for Grande Prairie, while Mark Wallman chipped in a goal and two assists. Dave Larson suffered the loss in goal.

The win brings to an end the Flyers regular season. Click here for information on upcoming exhibition games.

Hey Jon Zacks, Is there any

Hey Jon Zacks, Is there any word from Flyers brass as to whether the rumours are true that Theo Fleury will be joining the Flyers for the Allan Cup? http://whitehorsestar.com/archive/story/whitehorse-huskies-take-on-powel...

Theo

Thanks for the question. I directed it to GM Rob Larson on Tuesday afternoon, and he says there is no truth to it. Reading that article, it seems like the reporter based his claim on what the Whitehorse coach said, but it doesn't sound like he can back it up. Larson says he will be announcing a few new names in the next couple of days, so stay tuned for that. JZ
