Energy Board approves Northwest Mainline Expansion Project

Submitted by NOVA Gas Transmission Limited, it includes the construction and operation of three new natural gas pipeline loops. They'll run alongside existing rights-of-way, for  111.2 kilometres.

Its north section will be located approximately 110 kilometres north of Fort Nelson. The first leg of the project includes building approximately 97 kilometres of pipe starting near the proposed Fortune Creek Meter Station with a tie-in point at the Cabin section of the Horn River Mainline near the Encana Cabin Gas Plant.

NGTL wants to start clearing during the 2012/2013 winter season, with construction during fall and winter 2013/2014. It's hoped that operations will commence by the second quarter of 2014.
