Fort Nelson votes in favour of changing time zone
During Saturday’s Municipal Election, the Municipality asked a non-binding opinion poll asking residents if they are in favour of staying on Mountain Standard Time all year round. Residents voted in favour of the question with 1096 voting yes and 371 voting no.
If the Municipality changes to the Mountian Standard time zone year round, that would mean they would be on the same time as Fort St. John and Dawson Creek.
The results of the poll will now be used to help the Municipality decide if to move forward with the change or not.
