The Fish Creek Community Forest trails partially reopened on May 9th now the recent wildfire has been extinguished.
The 56-hectare wildfire at Fish Creek Community Forest does not appear to have been deliberately set, according to the City of Fort St. John.

The BC Wildfire Service said people in Fort St. John should expect to see more smoke produced by the Fish Creek wildfire this evening, as dry conditions may cause unburnt fuel pockets to ignite.
The City of Fort St. John said it is investigating the cause of the Fish Creek Community Forest wildfire, which started burning on May 1st.
Fort St. John Links golf course and New Totem Archery Club, which are in the vicinity of the Fish Creek Community Forest wildfire, said the blaze had caused minimal structural damage.
All aircraft were grounded at Fort St. John’s airport - North Peace Regional Airport - because of a wildfire at Fish Creek Community Forest.
BC Wildfire Service are battling a fire in the Fish Creek Community Forest on the northern edge of Fort St. John on May 1st.
