Join us on Saturday, June 6th at 4:00 for the opening of Ex Situ- our newest exhibit, on display until Saturday, June 27th. Ex SITU (a term in conservation meaning being out of one’s natural habitat), now on its 8th year, is a community art exhibit of the Filipino Canadians in FSJ. Ex Situ aims to bring forth the talents and works of the community members, considering their unique perspectives and lenses. It also hopes up give the community an opportunity to Interact, through art, with the larger community of Fort St. John. It is a part of the Filipino Heritage Month celebration, hosted by the NP FilCan Community Bayanihan Association—and organized by Ovvian Castrillo Hill with guest curator, sculptor/visual artist, Nixxio Castrillo. The participating artists this year include returning artists as well as new ones, including two youth artists.
