Fort Nelson at ‘extreme’ risk of wildfires, as well as spots near Fort St. John and Dawson Creek

The BC Wildfire Service says areas in northeast B.C. are at an ‘extreme’ risk of wildfires, including a large parcel engulfing Fort Nelson and spots near Fort St. John and Dawson Creek.

An area to the east of Fort St. John has been designated as in “extreme danger” of wildfires by the BC Wildfire Service (BCWS).

(UPDATE): Wildfire east of Redfern-Keily Provincial Park now ‘under control’

The fire, first reported on May 19th, is alongside Pocketknife Creek north of Pink Mountain.
