After weekend rainfall in northeast B.C., the Pocket Knife Creek wildfire is now listed as ‘being held' by the BC Wildfire Service (BCWS), while the Summit Lake blaze has slightly shrunk.
Wildfires in the Fort Nelson zone continue to grow amid warm, dry weather in the Prince George Fire Centre's region.
Four fires within the Fort Nelson fire zone have already increased, according to the BCWS, as the weekend's "challenging" weather forecast looms.
The BC Wildfire Service (BCWS) says warmer weather has seen an increase in the size of some wildfires within the Fort Nelson zone.
There were at least seven new fires discovered between Monday, May 26th and June 2nd.
