Chetwynd Hospital and Health Centre was diverted a second time over the weekend.

CHETWYND, B.C. — Chetwynd Hospital and Health Centre was diverted a second time over the weekend.
Northern Health announced just after 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 28th, that the hospital’s emergency department would be diverted between 5:00 p.m. that evening and 8:00 a.m. Monday, July 29th.
Like nearly every other diversion at the hospital this month, including the one that began on Saturday, the listed cause is “physician coverage challenges.”
This is the eighth diversion at the hospital since July 1st.
Those in need of life-threatening emergency care were urged to call 9-1-1 for transport to the nearest available and appropriate facility.
Meanwhile, non-urgent care patients were told to book an online appointment with Northern Health’s virtual clinic at 1-844-745-7811.
