Police standoff ends peacefully in Dawson Creek, RCMP says

Dawson Creek RCMP were called to a private residence in the Old Edmonton Highway and Highway 2 area at approximately 5:00 p.m. on April 16th after receiving word of a suicidal man on the premises.

DAWSON CREEK, B.C. — Police say an armed standoff at the intersection of Old Edmonton Highway and Highway 2 has ended peacefully.

Dawson Creek RCMP were called to a private residence in the area at approximately 5:00 p.m. on April 16th after receiving word of a suicidal man on the premises.

Police negotiated with the man for around two hours, taking him into custody without any injury.

The Old Edmonton Highway was closed off during the negotiations but is now again open to the public.

The Dawson Creek RCMP says there is no longer any concern for safety, and the public may return to the area.

In a way, he hopes this position will allow both himself and Energeticcity to grow as a collective unit as his career moves forward and evolves into the next step.

He looks forward to growing both as a reporter and as a human being while being posted in Fort St. John.
