The second session for North Peace residents will be on Friday, March 22nd, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Rose Prarie Community Curling Centre, located at 7077, 260 Road.

Attendees can expect presentations by staff from the Ministry of Agriculture and Food and the Ministry of Water, Land and Resource Stewardship covering how water management decisions are made during a drought and what resources and supports are offered.

The engagement sessions will also help build an understanding in the agriculture sector about the province’s legislative framework for water management, including regulatory tools and decision-making under the Water Sustainability Act (WSA).

The WSA was established in February 2016 to ensure that fresh water is supplied to meet the needs of B.C. residents by managing the resource with fees and regulations.

The event will be free to attend, with lunches provided.
