FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — Blizzard Bicycle Club member Ray Avanthay is the Baldonnel Road Race champion after finishing the race on June 4th with a time of 1:01:01.

According to the bicycle club, members were challenged by windy conditions for the duration of the 25-kilometre race. Calvin McCracken squeezed past Pat Ferris for second place, and Richard Wood followed three minutes behind Ferris for fourth.

Sunday’s race was Avanthay’s second victory in a row after putting an end to Nigel Wray’s win streak during the Badonnel Time Trial last Thursday. Avanthay finished the 16km route with a time of 23:45.

The cyclists were treated to excellent weather conditions during the time trial, with Wray finishing in second place, just 16 seconds behind Avanthay. Pat Ferris came in third place, and Sam Keats came in fourth.

Club members will meet again for the Baldonnel Time Trial on Thursday at 7:00 p.m.
