FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — Pacific Canbriam Energy has rented out four lanes at Fort Bowling Lanes and time at the North Peace Leisure Pool on Monday for evacuees.

Alysia Smith, the field administrative assistant, says they wanted to help out in the community.

“With all the kids that have gotten evacuated, it would be nice for them to be able to do something,” Smith said.

The free bowling, which includes the lane and shoes, runs from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday, May 22nd, at 10116 104 Street.

The free swim will be from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at 9505 100 Steet.

Smith says families can “just show up” to enjoy a game of bowling or a swim Monday afternoon.

The Peace River Regional District (PRRD) has evacuation alerts and orders for the Stoddart Creek, Red Creek, Donnie Creek and Cameron River wildfires.
