Local RCMP receiving additional assistance to aid wildfire situation

The RCMP is bringing in additional resources to the Fort St. John area to help with evacuation orders and alerts while maintaining normal operations.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — The RCMP is bringing in additional resources to the Fort St. John area to help with evacuation orders and alerts while maintaining normal operations.

According to Corporal Madonna Saunderson with the RCMP, the local detachment currently has roving and stationary patrols, including uniformed officers, commercial vehicle safety and enforcement and conservation officers.

Additional resources from across the province are arriving for extra support.

Officers will be deployed when and where they are needed, said Saunderson.
