FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — The local Tim Horton’s Smile Cookie Campaign raised a record-breaking $10,110 for the Fort St. John Hospital Foundation last week.
From May 1st to 7th, local Tim Horton’s locations sold smile cookies for $1.50 plus tax, with 100 per cent of the proceeds going towards the foundation.
In 2022, $7,392.80 was raised in Fort St. John between the three locations.
“Thank you to our wonderful community for sharing smiles through the Smile Cookie campaign. Raising a record-breaking $10,110 this year in support of local health care,” Kelly Amboe, Fort St. John Hospital Foundation’s executive director, said.
Smile cookies sold in Chetwynd and Dawson Creek will go toward the hospital foundations in each community.
The campaign began in 1996 to help raise funds for the Hamilton Children’s Hospital in Ontario and has since spread throughout Canada.
The sale of smile cookies has raised over $90 million for charities since its inception.
