Fort St. John Fire Department respond to kitchen fire Saturday morning

The Fort St. John Fire Department quickly extinguished a kitchen fire on 102nd Avenue Saturday morning.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — The Fort St. John Fire Department quickly extinguished a kitchen fire on 102nd Avenue Saturday morning.

Matt Troiano, deputy fire chief of the local fire department, said the department responded to a structure fire near Fort Bowling Lanes just after 8 a.m. on Saturday, April 29th.

Three vehicles and 16 members arrived on scene, and the fire was quickly controlled.

“We were on scene for about an hour and a half,” Troiano said.

Though the exact cause of the fire was undetermined, Troiano said it was reported as a kitchen fire.

The deputy fire chief said no one was hurt in the incident.
