FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — The High on Ice sculptures have been up for over two weeks, and now the City of Fort St. John is taking them down due to safety concerns.

According to the city, due to the sculptures melting unevenly, they become safety hazards with sharp edges and falling pieces.

The city says the ice slides will be up for one more weekend as long as they remain safe to ride.

Crews have been in Centennial Park on Monday and Tuesday to take the sculptures down.
