FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – Northern Legendary of Fort St. John will be replacing the North Peace Arena make-up air and exhaust fan for over $300,000.
This project includes removing the existing units and installing and balancing the new units.
There are three MUA units and five exhaust fans that need to be removed and replaced.
Only $172,000 was budgeted for this project, and because the total cost was estimated at $332,709.38, the city was required to take $160,709.38 from the capital reserve.
The project is partially funded through the Canada Infrastructure Grant, receiving $137,000 for the MUA units and $35,000 for the exhaust fans.
The city says the deficit amount is due to the increased costs of the units required.
