FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – The North Peace Grizzlies’ boys rugby team has started off the season 1-2 while the girls are undefeated at 2-0 as league games continue.

Both teams will be playing on Thursday, May 12th, in Grande Prairie, and the girls have a home game on May 19th.

“Spring Sports happen quickly, and the athletes have done a fantastic job at keeping themselves accountable in playing the sports they love too. Good luck to our athletes over the next few weeks,” said Jaclyn McNicol, athletic director at North Peace Secondary School.

Over the weekend, track and field students represented NPSS at the Sub Zero Track Meet in Prince George.

  • Tommaso placed 1st in the 100m and 4x 100m relay.
  • Ronin Laurie placed 1st in the 800m and 4x 100 relay
  • Elanor placed first in the 100m, 400m, 4x 100 m and long jump categories
  • Raelle Amboe placed 1st in triple jump, 1st in 1500m,  2nd in the 400 m race, 3rd in high jump, second in Javelin throwing and 1st/ 3rd in the 4x 100m relay heats
  • Isabel Amboe placed 1st in the 1500m, 3rd in the 4x 100m race, and 4th place in long jump
  • Isabelle Bojczuk placed 2nd in high jump at 133cm and 3rd in the 4×100 m relay
  • Jayden Whitford came 2nd in javelin throw, shot put, long jump and 3rd in the 4x 100m relay
  • Ava Long came 3rd in the 4 x100 m relay
  • Heart and hustle go to Ava Long and Jayden Whitford

Next up for track and field is Grande Prairie on May 14th and Zones in Prince George from May 18th to 19th.

AAA Girls Socer zones will be hosted at NPSS Friday, May 13th and Saturday, May 14th, with a schedule to come.
