OAKVILLE, ON – Alert Ready will be broadcasting a public test of the National Public Alerting System on May 4th, 2022, across Canada.
Canadians will receive a single test message from their provincial or territorial emergency management organization over television, radio, and compatible wireless devices.
The test message will simulate an emergency alert, beginning with the alert tone known as the Canadian Alert Attention Signal.
The message will say that it is only a test and does not require any action.
The B.C. alert will occur at 1:55 P.M. on May 4th, 2022.
In a release, Pelmorex Corp. says this test will provide an opportunity to validate its effectiveness and reliability to ensure it works as intended from start to finish.
They also add that Canadians will not be able to opt-out of these tests or alerts as they can be an imminent threat to life or property.
They say that the Alert Ready system delivered 173 public emergency alerts to Canadians in 2021.

Help us hire an investigative journalist!
Our first goal once we hire an investigative reporter is to look into the state of our healthcare system. You may have read the stories we have published, detailing first-hand accounts from residents with major health issues that seemed to be failed by the system and included red tape answers from health officials on these issues.
We want to release a series of stories, featuring interviews we have compiled from residents, looking into these issues but we need your help.
By donating, you’re actively helping our efforts to give you the stories you want.
