Fort Nelson taxes lower slightly

FORT NELSON, B.C. – Fort Nelson’s regional council has approved this year’s tax rates, which are marginally lower than 2021.

In 2021, the residential tax rate for the town was sitting at 3.27054 per cent, and this year it’s at 3.09443 per cent.

Rural areas A and B both saw slight decreases as well.

Utility, major industry and light industry taxes also lowered slightly from 10.79279 per cent to 10.21161 per cent.

Businesses in the town and the rural areas also received a slight decrease in taxes, as did the recreational and non-profit properties.
