POUCE COUPE, B.C. – A child who was allegedly abducted by two men in a blue van in Pouce Coupe escaped and was not physically harmed, according to Dawson Creek RCMP.
Police say they received a report on Wednesday around 7:30 p.m. that a child riding their bicycle around 47th Avenue and Railroad Road was abducted between 5:30 pm and 7:00 pm.
A van had stopped, and two men put the victim and bicycle in the vehicle, and ended up driving around before the kid was able to escape, said police.
The youth managed to grab their bike as well and made it home to call the police.
The detachment says the van has been described as a newer blue utility van with no sliding doors and center opening rear doors with no windows.
The suspect has been described as a caucasian man, approximately 25-30 years of age, with dyed purple hair and a distinctive black dragon tattoo on his forearm. There is no description available of the other suspect but is believed to be a man.
The police urge anyone who may have been in the area during this time, anyone with dashcam video, and anyone who may have seen individuals and a van matching the description to call the police,
said S/Sgt Damon Werrell.
Anyone with information about this situation is asked to call the Dawson Creek RCMP at (250) 784-3700
