FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – A pickup truck near 99th Avenue went up in smoke Thursday afternoon.

The Fort St. John Fire Department responded to a report of a single-vehicle on fire around 1:14 p.m.

The owner of Wiggles and Giggles says it seemed someone was living in the vehicle over the past couple of weeks.

Deputy Fire Chief Daniel Simpson says a bystander told the firefighters there was a possible occupant in the vehicle.

After the few minutes it took to extinguish the fire, it was confirmed there were no occupants.

The fire was contained to the original vehicle and there were no injuries reported.

The cause of the fire is unknown and the department continues to investgate.
