FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – The U-13 Ross H. MacLean Flyers arrived home from Salmon Arm with bronze medals last week.
The Flyers beat the Cranbook Bucks  7-3 on March 23rd to gain the third place finish in the provincial tier 2 championships.
The club finished 3-2 in the tournament after notching two wins and one loss in round robin play before a 9-3Â loss to Vancouver in the semi-finals.
Forward Luke Leuenberger led the team in points in the tournament with six goals and two assists. Draydon Lowes was right behind Leuenberger with three goals and three assists.
The three other Flyers clubs that competed in provincials last week were unable to snag a medal.
In tier 2 tournaments, the U-15 Northern Metallic Flyers placed fourth in Vernon, as did the Petroleum Association U-18 Flyers in Campbell River.
The V.E. Brandl U-13 Flyers finished in eight in the tier 3 provincials in Trail.
