TAYLOR, B.C. – Canfor says it is extending a curtailment of production at the Taylor Pulp Mill for up to six weeks.

The mill was initially curtailed on February 26th because of transportation issues.

The company says ongoing transportation shortages have not been resolved, resulting in continued high finished product inventories at the pulp mill.

In a release, Kevin Anderson, vice president of operations, says the company was forced to extend the curtailment.

“We are very disappointed in the ongoing impact this is having on our employees, their families and the community,” said Anderson in a statement.

Canfor says the curtailment will further reduce the production of BCTMP by at least 25,000 tonnes.
