DAWSON CREEK, B.C. – It’s been seven years since the Spring Breakup Rodeo has been in Dawson Creek, and they’re bringing it back for two nights in April at the Ovintiv Events Centre.

The rodeo will be on April 22nd and April 23rd, starting at 7 p.m.

Bucking stock is being provided by the Calgary Stampede Ranch, with pro competitors participating in seven events, including saddle bronc, bareback, bull riding, steer wrestling, barrel racing, team roping and tie-down roping.

New to the event is a junior rodeo, which will also be held on both days. There are two age groups, 12 and under and 13 to 18. Both groups can participate in barrel racing, breakaway roping, team roping, steer riding, pole bending and goat tying.

There will also be a dance in the dirt at the Exhibition Grounds featuring Chris Leblanc after the rodeo on both nights. Admission to the dance is with the rodeo ticket or at the door.

Tickets can be purchased online at tigerboxofficeplus.ca, by phone at 250-782-7443 and in person at the Tiger Box Office Plus locations in the Ovintiv Events Centre and the Tourism Dawson Creek Visitor Information Centre.
