FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – Fort St. John RCMP say the arrest of Gavin James Davis led to a search warrant where guns and drugs were seized.

Police conducted a search warrant on Davis’ home on March 18th after the crime reduction and drug unit took him into custody for breaching the conditions of his probation.

During the search, mounties say they found two loaded shotguns and a significant amount of illicit drugs packaged for sale.

Davis was handed additional charges, and his girlfriend, Amber Stertz, was taken into custody as well.

Davis was on probation for previous firearm and violent offences. He is now facing eight additional firearm and drug trafficking charges, including possession for the purpose of trafficking and careless use or storage of a firearm.

Police say Davis remains in custody until March 28th, when the courts will consider the potential for his release.

Stertz is facing five charges, including possession for the purpose of trafficking and careless use or storage of a firearm. Police say she was released with a future court date of June 20th “due to minimal criminal history”.
