FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – The Fort St. John Women’s Resource Society kicked off its second annual auction Friday at 3 p.m. to help raise money for their outreach store.
Housing and outreach coordinator for the society, Lisa Jewell, says the goal this year is to raise $10,000 to purchase food for the outreach store, which saw a usage increase of 104 per cent from 2020 to 2021.
Residents will be able to bid on various items, including clothing sets, gift bundles, and gift certificates from local businesses and hotels.

“I’m so excited. We have so many cool things up for grabs, and I can’t wait to see who’s going to get them and how excited they will be to have won it,” Jewell said.
“Some of the experiences, giftables, and items that we’ve had come in are simply mind-blowing.”
One lucky resident will even be able to throw a pie in the face of Moose FM’s morning show host, Dub Craig.
Those interested in placing a bid can head to the event’s Facebook page and comment their bid under the item they wish to bid on.
Bidding will go until Monday at 3 p.m. The society says winners will then be contacted to collect their items within the week.
