MOBERLY LAKE, B.C. – A West Moberly First Nations-owned company is receiving $94,930 for a pilot program providing transitional training for its workforce after the construction of the Coastal GasLink pipeline.

The program will include professional development, skills training, retraining and human resources recommendations for the First Nations.

On Wednesday, the ministry of municipal affairs announced the recipients of the third and fourth intake of the fund, with eight Northern B.C.projects receiving $905,905.

Northern Development Initiative Trust administers the fund on behalf of the province.

“We’re pleased to have approved funding for a variety of local governments, First Nations and non-profits during the third and fourth intakes of this fund,” said Joel McKay, CEO at Northern Development Initiative Trust.
