FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – The Fort St. John & District Palliative Care Society will soon be receiving a donation of ten to fifteen used beds from Peace Villa.
The society provides hospital beds for those in palliative care through its lending program.
Program head, Lorna Nyffeler, says with more beds, the society will be better equipped to support the community.
“It’s really a help because at the moment we have also a palliative care room in the hospital, but two patients cannot use that room because of COVID,” Nyffeler explained.
“To us, this is one way of letting the community know that we are here for them more,” Nyffeler said.
Nyffeler added that the society will be able to pick up the beds next week, but they’re still on the lookout for more.
The society wishes to thank Sean Gallagher from Fero Construction who volunteered to move the beds.
