FORT ST. JOHN B.C. – Former Fort St. John resident Ina Forrest has won her fourth Paralympic medal.
Team Canada lost 9-5 in the semifinals to China, putting them in the bronze medal match with Slovakia.
The loss didn’t discourage the team, and they bounced back with an 8-3 victory over Slovakia.
They were up 4-3, heading into the eighth end. Canada secured the triumph with takeout on the last throw courtesy of Jon Thurston.
The Canadian squad secured the win and a fifth consecutive Paralympic podium.
China and Sweden will compete for gold on Saturday.
