Northeast BC recorded 70 COVID-19 cases between February 27th to March 5th, a drop from 115 cases recorded the week prior, according to recent BC Centre for Disease Control data.

There were 39 cases reported in the North Peace, 28 in the South Peace, and three in Fort Nelson.

In the Northern Health region, there are 32 people in hospital; five of them are in critical care. The area recorded three deaths over the last week, bringing the total to 318.

The number of Fort St. John residents who are fully vaccinated is 17,640, or 78.5 per cent, with 6,818 people, or 30.3  per cent, having received their booster dose.

In Dawson Creek, 71.3 per cent of residents are fully vaccinated, with 31.9 per cent having received their third dose.

Vaccinations have moved back to the health unit from Totem Mall.
