FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – Fort St. John conservation officers handed out a couple of violation tickets to anglers over the weekend.
According to the BC Conservation Officer Service, three tickets were issued while officers patrolled Red Fern Lake.
A group of anglers were reportedly fishing with unattended lines, and one person didn’t have a fishing license.
According to the province, fishing with a set line is only allowed in lakes in the Skeena and Omineca regions, with one line one hook no smaller than three centimetres.
In BC, leaving a line unattended can result in a $250 fine, and fishing without a license is $500.
