FORT NELSON, B.C. – The School District 81 Board of Education in Fort Nelson appointed Mark Theobald as its new Superintendent of Schools.
Board chair, Linda Dolen, made the announcement earlier this week after a Canada-wide search.
“Our Board is looking forward to working with Mr. Theobald as he assumes this important leadership role in Fort Nelson and the broader educational community. Mr. Theobald will be following in the footsteps of our distinguished, long serving Superintendent, Mrs. Diana Samchuck,” Dolen.
Dolen says Theobald has a Master of Educational Leadership and Bachelor of Science majoring in Mathematics from Vancouver Island University, as well as numerous certifications that demonstrate his commitment to life-long learning.
Theobald has worked in School District 81 as principal for eight years, using goal-setting, effective communication and collaboration to build successful relationships with our students, parents, staff, and business community.
Theobald is actively involved in community arts and outdoor recreational activities, said Dolen.
“The board wishes Theobald every success in his new position.”
